|A large number of NOS canisters were found between Bourton on the Water and Great Rissington. We urge people to be aware of the dangers of taking NOS and the dangers of taking it with alcohol.
Nitrous Oxide also known as NOS is a colourless gas sold in canisters and usually inhaled using a balloon, NOS can be dangerous when inhaled.
Inhaling too much NOS can make a person faint, lose consciousness or suffocate from lack of oxygen. People have died from inhaling too much NOS and suffocating.
Mixing NOS and alcohol increases the risk of respiratory depression and loss of consciousness.
Other common names for NOS are; Laughing gas, nitro, N2O, NOS, whippet, hippy crack, buzz bomb and balloons.
