Fine issued by CDC for fly tipping

Working in partnership with Cotswold District Council a persons has been fined £400 for fly tipping a large quantity of bark chipping on the side of a road near to Northleach. Fly tipping is an environmental crime.

There is no excuse for fly tipping and we all pay for fly tipping as it costs the District Council to clear waste dumped on council -owned land. Dumped waste not only looks unpleasant , but it can also seriously damage land, pollute water and endanger wildlife.

Offenders can be fined up to £50,000 or 12 months imprisonment if convicted at Magistrates Court. This can be increase to an unlimited fine and up to 5 years imprisonment if convicted at Crown Court

You can report fly tipping on the CDC website.
