E-scooters Reminder

We have had a number of reports recently of people still using e-scooters on the highway. Any mechanically propelled scooter can not be used on paths or roads , unless it has insurance.
Local towns do hire out these type of scooters, but they are covered by insurance.
If anyone is found using an e-scooter on the highway it is likely it will be seized under the Road Traffic act for no insurance. This will result in a fine of £300 and 6 penalty points. Anyone who doesn’t have a driving licence will have one created and the 6 penalty points will remain in place for 4 years, so this could impact on a young person wanting to start driving at 17.

Many thanks
